World Best Innovative Aerosol CAN of 2019.

The competition 2019 held by AEROBAL for the selection of the world’s best innovative CAN. A committee involving editors from famous specialist publications in the fields of packaging, the aerosol business, and cosmetics selected their favorites in two categories.

2. Prototypes.

The jury of ten specialist editors from four different continents chose the subsequent winners of the World Aluminium Aerosol Can Award 2019.

A. FARMS MAPLE STREAM – Innovative design

The winner is FARMS MAPLE STREAM aluminium CAN by Montebello Packaging of Canada. It has a unique shoulder shape for convenient handling with 7 fl oz (207 ml) volume of product. 

The CAN has a white base coating in dry offset printed graphics with gloss over varnish. The jury influenced the above all with its exceptional print quality. 

Reason for being selection, without a doubt, the graphics included in this new product development right from the beginning – from the idea phase through to the ultimate implementation by the client. And it reflected positively in the print result.

The client gave the graphics team with a true 4 color process CMYK file with many overprints. Selected spot colors used to put the overprint to a minimum and still obtain the desired printed image. The artwork was very complicated, and this meant the graphics team had to include the final artwork for the printed CAN to get a match with the artwork supplied by the customer. 

The color separation procedures and dry dot screening technology used to stop the overprinting of the inks. The dot used to gain curves to secure the screened area, and screened images reproduced as carefully as feasible to the customer artwork.

B. Ball Corporation – prototype category award

Ball Corporation, a USA company, was the champion in the prototype category with its innovative 360° technology. It permits a wide variety of molds created over the complete circumference of the aluminium can.

The technology not limited to stock shapes but can also produce the exclusive shapes that the customer desires. A unique graphic design, which followed to the respective support area, further enhances the visual shape impact. It appears in a CAN with a strong impression when viewed from all angles and perspectives. And the shape provides added grip and also a user-friendly ergonomic feel.
