EMSUR, via its Technology Innovation Centre INNOTECH, presents ECOEM-Sleeves, a new range of sustainable shrink sleeve solutions for bottled carbonated drinks, water, juice, or drinkable yogurts.

The drink industry understands all about the benefits of bottle sleeves as they deliver a vital element of product differentiation on shelves, express strategic brand messages or nutrition information on the product’s contents, and improve consumer added-value perception via innovative designs, materials, and printing.

How can recycle easily with ECOEM-Sleeves?

In the existing processes, the sleeves are extracted from the bottles at the washing stage to sidestep contamination of the PET flakes later used in Post-consumer’s recycling flow.

But in ECOEM-Sleeves range delivers additional sustainable solutions. ECOEM-FULL PET Sleeve is an outstanding, innovative shrink sleeve solution based on various films and washable inks developed to simplify the recycling process by avoiding residues or contamination.

Based on eco-design regulations, this new product line features a variety of PET-based films and washable inks, which can be mixed and recycled with PET bottles without any clumping of remains or interruption in the drying and decontamination process.

In expansion, this outcome can be manufactured with post-consumer recycled content and has APR certification for washable inks, stopping discoloration of the flakes from the recycled PET bottles.

EMFULL, a polyolefin-based sleeve option

Another of the fantastic products in this new family is EMFULL, whose floatability features permit the sleeve to be detached directly from the bottle during the washing stage of the recycling process.

Properties of Shrink Sleeve

This product variety also features other resolutions and different materials such as PETG, with available post-consumer recycled range and various finishes such as high gloss or matt, translucent and other differentiating characteristics such as holographic effects, glow-in-the-dark pigments, gold and silver inks, etc.

It can use any other material in assortment with these bottles thanks to the possibility of micro-perforation, which means that the bottles are also recyclable with consumer exchange.

It is worth noting that EMSUR has been authorized by the DPG-System set up in the German market to fulfill the compulsory deposit on one-way drinks packaging by the German Packaging Ordinance’s conditions to promote circularity recyclability.
