Get set go with the futuristic paper bottle with innovative patent technologies – Pulpex

Alternate solution of PET bottle

The Stora Enso and packaging technology company Pulpex join forces to industrialize eco-friendly paper bottles, and containers produce from wood fiber pulp. These renewable products will be offered an alternative for PET plastics and glass. The exclusive partnership leverages Stora Enos formed fiber technologies and converted end-products at an industrial scale.

Stora Enso and Pulpex

This joint development agreement is formed exclusively between Stora Enso and Pulpex. It is a sustainable packaging technology company established by Diageo (Johnnie Walker, Smirnoff, and Guinness) and Pilot Lite (a venture management company). The partnership intends for large-scale industrial production of renewable and recyclable paper bottles and containers that diminish readily in the natural environment.

Sustainable Pulp

Created with sustainably sourced formed fiber pulp, the bottles and containers would enable a significantly lower carbon footprint compared with glass or PET. A formed fiber product is produced by pressing various wood-based pulps into a three-dimensional shape in a molding machine. The partnership focuses on developing a high-speed production line that is supposed to be operational in 2022.

Potential Development

“We see great potential in merging development skills of Pulpex with our industrial capacities, says Sohrab Kazemahvazi, SVP Formed Fiber at Stora Enso. “This partnership marks an important step in bringing to market a truly sustainable alternative to plastic bottles and containers while contributing end-user qualities that match those of traditional packaging in the beverage market.”

Using Stora Enos formed fiber material, Pulpex will produce paper bottles for various global brands across different market applications, from homecare and individual care products to alcohol- and non-alcohol beverages and liquid foods.

All of Stora Enso’s wood fiber pulp reaches from sustainable, confirmed sources. The customizable Pulpex bottle allowed for embossing, labeling, and colored pigments to fit brand needs and easily integrates into any packaging manufacturer’s enduring filling infrastructure.

“We are happy to have Stora Enso included with Pulpex and are looking forward to the tangible advantages of such a formidable collaboration that will undoubtedly help us over the following months as we seek to make our new, high-speed production lines ready to all our co-workers,” says Scott Winston, Director, Pulpex Limited.
