Unilever acquires The Laundress

Unilever today published it had acquired The Laundress brand, a global premium eco-friendly line of home cleaning commodities located in New York, US.

Established in 2004 by textile and fabric division founder Gwen Whiting and Lindsey Boyd, The Laundress is committed to turning required household chores into a luxurious and enjoyable life. Having begun with the Wool and Cashmere Shampoo product, the brand’s purpose is vested in reviving the lost art of laundry care.
The Laundress portfolio now includes 85 eco-friendly products of Laundry and Home Cleaning, which extends Unilever’s portfolio in the developing top end of the Home Care market and fits greatly with Unilever’s Sustainable Living Plan.
