DIC Corporation declared that it had introduced a new polyester plasticizer derived entirely from biomass sources. It has received the “Biomass 100%” Biomass Mark. A label certifying that a product made solely with biomass under the Japan Organics Recycling Association (JORA)’s. It is the first plasticizer to be given the “Biomass 100%” marking.
Plasticizer additives applied to allow flexibility to thermoplastic resins, especially PVC. As well as to intensify the processability and moldability of such resins when utilized in the manufacture of finished products. Plasticizers contain a significant proportion of flexible plastic PVC formulations. The primary purposes of 100% Biomass for PVC in the food processing and restaurant enterprises involve food packing films, food handling gloves, and other food contact materials. Other uses vary from daily items to mechanical products, including inside automotive materials, sheathing materials for home appliance power cables, and inks for textiles in clothing.
It originated from plants, a renewable source. DIC corporation has a new plasticizer, Polycizer W-1810-BIO provides decarbonization. Emphasizing its safety, the product has got certification from the Japan Hygienic PVC Association (JHPA)’s JHP standard.
It is boosting its use in food contact materials. It is for flexibility and durability—two critical properties of plasticizers.
