Today’s Frugal company announced to launch its wine in a paper bottle packaging.
It is the most significant discovery for wine and spirits packaging – since the innovation of the glass bottle.
The 75cl Frugal Bottle is composed of 94% recycled paperboard with a food-grade liner holding the wine or spirit.
The paper wine bottle supposed to be refrigerated and keeps the product cooler for a more extended period.
Comparable to The Frugal Bottle, is less in cost to a labeled glass bottle. It designs and supplies recycled paper wine packaging with a low carbon footprint efficiently recovered again, so it doesn’t require going to landfill. The Frugal Bottles are produced at Frugalpac’s facility in Ipswich.

The first sale of the frugal wine paper bottle goes on the award-winning Italian vineyard Cantina Goccia.
There are six unique features of the recycled paper wine packaging.
- Lighter in weight: The wine paper Bottle weight is 83g, so it is five times lighter than a standard glass bottle, it is easier to carry and transport.
- Environment Friendly: The frugal paper bottle is made from recycled paperboard with no chemicals, and it has a carbon footprint up to six times (84%) lower than a glass bottle and more than a third less than a bottle made from 100% recycled plastic. The Frugal Bottle’s water footprint is also at least four times lower than glass.
- Easy to recycle: It can easily separate the plastic food-grade liner from the paper bottle. And put them in your particular recycling bins. Or you can put the entire bottle in your paper recycling bin, and the liner will be easily separated in the paper re-pulping process.
- Comparative is less plastic than a plastic bottle: The Frugal paper wine Bottle uses up to 77% less plastic. The only 15g bottle compared to a 64g bottle made from 100% recycled plastic.
- Its Easily stands out: The Frugal Paper Bottle is made from recycled paperboard; it allows for 360-degree branding across the bottle. No other wine bottle looks or feels like it, and it easily stands out on the shelf and table.
- Better for wine producers: The Frugal paper Bottle can be produced in the heart of their bottling facility; it offers complete freedom on design and print, is more cost-effective to transport while reducing their carbon footprint.
