It’s a wrap! Mondi’s new Advantage StretchWrap paper alternative to plastic stretch wrap
Mondi, a worldwide supplier in packaging and paper, collectively with the Italian machine producer ACMI to form a new wrapping system for pallets that works with paper instead of plastic. By modifying the way pallets are wrapped, Advantage StretchWrap decreases the supply chain’s reliance on plastic, transferring to a renewable and fully recyclable material.
Advantage StretchWrap
Mondi’s has made a new lightweight paper grade, Advantage StretchWrap, which can wrap and resist puncture when covering pallets to guard goods during transportation. Currently, our industry is using multi-layer plastic, which is difficult to recycle and is presently used for pallet wrapping, switching to a responsibly sourced renewable material, the new market standard.

Advantage StretchWrap (patent-pending) is a brand with an outstanding stretch of up to 11% and high-tensile strength. The paper has worked in the low grammage of 70 gsm; it makes it a robust and lightweight wrapping solution for goods transit on pallets. It has been examined and claimed the compression holding force test according to EUMOS standard, which means that the pallets can be safely transported.
Mondi’s experience in high-stretch papers is in the DNA of this new paper solution. Mondi has been producing robust and stretchable paper for wrapping spring mattresses for over 20 years. Continuous developments for the paper parameters in strength, stretch, and reduced grammage made it possible to consider new applications. Now, after two years of research and development, we are proud to launch Advantage StretchWrap, our innovative paper-based solution for pallet wrapping. It is an excellent example of how we make packaging and paper sustainable by design, using paper where possible, plastic when applicable.
