Heinz selling portable gadgets to squeeze ketchup out of packets

Not sure what delivered them so long, but for people who desire to press the precious last drop of ketchup from those pocket-sized packets, your appeals have finally been solved.

This week, Heinz turned out The Heinz Packet Roller, a gadget specifically created to extract all tomato-based condiments (and others) out of the plastic packets.

To handle the design —shaped like a tiny Heinz ketchup bottle attached with a metal loop for fitting on a keychain — insert the closed end of your ketchup packet into the opening on one side of the Packet Roller and then drag it out the other side.

As the packet slides through, the condiment will be conveniently forced out the open end.

“Our packets begin the magic to mealtime no matter where people are having their burger and fries but squeezing out every drop is no easy feat,” Heinz’s brand director Ashleigh Gibson said with the announcement of the nifty contraption, designed to give drive-thru delivery and takeout fans ease of use. “We engineered the Heinz Packet Roller to give fans a whole new way to savor their favorite condiment and ensure the last drop never goes to waste again.”

The Pittsburgh-headquartered company sells what it calls its “biggest thing in the sauce since the packet itself” for $5.70 each through HeinzPacketRoller.com.

Heinz‘s fellow Steel City institution, the famous Primanti’s sandwich chain, will be marketing them at their Market Square location while stocks last.
