Dow introduced the Recycle, Redesign and Reuse through Renuva™

In attempting to guide the transformation from linear to a circular economy of polyurethane materials at a commercial scale, Dow has been actively trying out and involving value chain partners through its Renuva™ program.

A crucial lead under the Renuva™ program umbrella is the RENUVA™ Mattress outline which sets out to recycle polyurethane foam from end-of-life mattresses, to prevent them from ending up in landfills.

A key objective of Renuva™ is to optimize the usage and reuse of supplies and sequentially reduce the volume of waste moving into landfills or incineration.

The RENUVA™ Mattress plan will aim to make the entire value chain together in a new business eco-system model with opportunity for businesses between recycling companies, equipment and material manufacturers, brand owners, and other stakeholders. The initial step, Dow has partnered with H&S Anlagentechnik to generate a commercially viable recycling system for polyurethane mattresses.
