Amcor Develops High-barrier, Transparent PET Packaging of Cold-Fill Dairy product for Danone’s
The yogurt business in Latin America is continually growing as businesses expand products to invite to health-conscious customers. That request carries premium-looking packaging that is tough and more sustainable.
Danone business involves revealing its packaging for its new all-natural spoonable yogurt which is marketed in Argentina. The natural 200-ml polyethylene terephthalate (PET) container with a wide-mouth opening and an aluminum-PET-aluminium cap with a 65mm having the inner layer of clear polypropylene (PP) was formed in collaboration with global packaging company Amcor.
“This PET jar is a solely new form offering for cold-fill dairy products,” said Martin Darmandrail, business development director for Amcor in Argentina.
The PET jar carries the 100% natural positioning of Danone’s La Serenísima’s yogurt with displayed engraving, a finely base, and a whole body-wrap around label. For protecting the contents, the jar comprises a 55-mm finish with aluminum-PET-aluminum-foil barrier seal and an ultraviolet blocker.
Amcor optimized the two-step reheat method to create the wide-mouth jars applying a Matrix blow-molding machine an industry first – for high-volume yogurt containers, according to Darmandrail.
