Exploring the coating on the paper and paperboard for takeaway food
A new banning on single-use plastics revealed are putting a renewed focus on bio-materials to deliver alternative packaging.
Kelpi’s innovative coatings for paper and card were featured on BBC TV News as one of how takeaways, restaurants, and cafes will be capable of eliminating single-use plastics in the future.
BBC Breakfast arrived at Kelpi’s Bristol labs to study how our high-performance coatings could benefit UK takeaway’s use of paper and card packaging as an alternative to the single-use plastics which will be banned in England from October this year.
The ban means that restaurants serving takeaway food will have to look at more sustainable solutions. So Kelpi’s high-performance coatings will, in the future, provide the barriers to moisture, grease, and acid needed to enable paper and card packaging to become the best answer for fish and chips, burgers, kebabs, and other takeaways.
