Smurfit Kappa has produced an innovative new packaging solution for detergent, and McBride, the leading European producer of private label products for the cleansing and hygiene business. The Click-to-Lock Pods Box is a 100% paper-based classification that implements a sustainable and safe alternative to laundry pods’ traditional plastic box.
Recyclable and biodegradable – Innovative Detergent Packaging
That unique packaging solution decreases CO2 emissions by 32% during production and is 100% recyclable and biodegradable. It is the most advanced example of how Smurfit Kappa utilizes its circular business model to classify the best packaging solution for every situation and decrease environmental impact.

Following successful protocol testing, the Click-to-Lock Pods Box is tamper-proof thankfulness to a practical, certified child-lock scheme in line with the International Association of Soaps, Detergents, and Maintenance Products. It is additionally moisture resistant due to the varnish inside the packaging that presents a barrier toward any moisture from accessing the contents.
The package has 25% more capacity than the previous plastic version and leads abilities to the supply chain by facilitating an improved pallet load.

That Click-to-Lock Pods Box is on shelves in France and spread out across Europe in the coming months.
