LIFEWTR bottle with 100% r-Plastic and Aquafina is in AL-CAN

PepsiCo, Inc. published that LIFEWTR would be packaged in 100% rPET (r-polyethylene terephthalate), and bubly brand will not be sold in plastic. The AQUAFINA® water brand shall also propose AL-CAN packaging in America foodservice outlets, while in other countries will test the changes.

The modification is supposed to eliminate more than 8,000 metric tons of virgin bottles and almost 11,000 metric tons of greenhouse gas discharges, describing the latest aggressive steps in the company’s sustainability mission. They strengthen and develop PepsiCo’s goals by 2025 make 100% of its packaging recyclable, compostable, or biodegradable and use 25% recycled plastic content in all its plastic packaging.

Naked Juice, which is in premium fruit and veggie juices and smoothies category, has been running since 2009 to assure its bottles are made of 100% rPET and can be transformed into new bottles again and again. By doing its bottles with rPET, the brand also utilizes about 25% less energy than if it used virgin plastic.

Pepsico working with current suppliers and allies like The Recycling Partnership, Loop Industries, Alliance to End Plastic Waste, and World Economic Forum’s Global Plastic Action Partnership (GPAP), PepsiCo is endeavoring to both boost recycling rates and promote the plastic recycling infrastructure.
