In appreciation of its innovative usage of recycled plastic and its product design focused on recycling, the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industry (ISRI) stated Nestlé Waters 2019 Design for Recycling® (DFR) Award winner.
The DFR Award is ISRI’s most renowned award granted yearly to the most innovative offering to products designed with recycling to the market. Nestlé Waters won the award especially for the design of its Nestlé® Pure Life® 700ml bottle made from 100 percent recycled PET plastic.
Nestlé® Pure Life® bottle is made completely from recycled content, and its design also carries to the end-of-life processing. For example, the bottle emphasizes a state-of-the-art, pressure-sensitive label. Unlike conventional adhesive labels that may not come out from the PET chips as when the recycling process, probably destroying the recycling stream, so those labels will loosen quickly while the washing step of the recycling process so the material can be used to make new bottles again and again.
