Fluorination of HDPE Container – Agro-Chemical Packaging
Fluorination Process is the surface modification of the plastic process, resulting in the substitution of hydrogen molecule by fluorine molecule.
How to Make of Fluorinated bottle?
After the production of the HDPE container, HDPE container place into the fluorination chamber, whereas fluorine gas injected into the chamber. And that molecule connects inside and outside of the HDPE container wall.
Why is it require the fluorination Process?
Some chemicals/products are incompatible (longer shelf life) with the Regular HDPE drum and metal. Few of the chemicals make it the wall thinner of a container, and even the product can pass it through the wall; this results in paneling the container.
So, here we choose to fluorinated HDPE drum.
The fluorination bottle tends to reduce the permeability of the product, due to having a hydrogen-based solvent in the HDPE container. This type of packaging used in the Agrochemical Packaging industry.
The advantage of the Fluorination HDPE drum…
1. Excellent solvent and moisture resistance
2. Cost-effective compared with metal
3. Superior strength and higher shelf life
4. Better ESCR
In addition, CIB India and FDA approve it.
Disadvantages of the fluorination process:
There is no such test method to check the Fluorination process and also can’t have the visual identification.
Excellent post. I was checking constantly this blog and I’m impressed! Very useful information specifically the last part 🙂 I care for such info a lot. I was looking for this particular info for a long time. Thank you and good luck.
